Menu of Menus

Last week, I was able to attend the 15th annual Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza. The extravaganza was held at the massive silver street station. Houston Press has built a platform that offers unlimited food samples from over 40 of Houston’s top restaurants along with wine, beer and cocktail pairings.  Menu of Menus truly shows how diverse Houston’s food scene is. There was Italian, Mexican, Japanese,Greek South African, Cajun Brazilian and American foods.  They even had an Iron fork competition putting two of Houston’s top chefs against each other in a cook-off. Some of the restaurants at Menu of Menus were Prestige Oyster’s Inc., Niko Nikos, Krisp Bird and Batter, Hughie’s Tarvan & Vietnamese, Fajita Pete’s, Casian King, Shipleys , Season 52. Some of my favorite restaurants were Los Cucos Mexican Café with their chicken and beef quesadilla, Krisp Bird and Batter serving chicken and biscuits drenched in spicy ranch sauce, Trahan’s Wings and Daiquiris with their spicy Hurricane Katrina wings, Peli Peli serving their South African oxtails, and Italiano’s Restaurant with their wine and pasta. The best drink in my opinion came from Blue Chair Bay; their new vanilla and key lime pie flavored rum taste amazing. For dessert I loved delicious cold treats from SweetRide! They are the only alcoholic and non-alcoholic gourmet Ice Cream, Sorbet, Italian Ice and Sno-Cone truck in Houston. Overall this was a foodie’s playground and I look forward to next year. Thanks again Mrs. Sexton for the tickets it was truly a great experience. I have provided pictures down below along with a link to Menu of Menus and the restaurants.
