Lifting Families Together

This past Saturday, I was given the pleasure to attend/cover the Lifting Families Together Gala. Lifting Families Together “LFT” is a 501©(3) nonprofit. LFT main focus is improving the quality of life of children with health care issues in the Houston area; through programs that empower children and their families. The Gala was Hosted at the lavish Junior League of Houston Inc. This place is the definition of elegance, for it is surrounded with nice paintings, antique furniture and a tea room. The live sounds of Bruce Milton rang throughout the building as he played jazz hits and love songs. During the Gala they honored sponsors and volunteers who helped with the organization this past year.  Also the Founder “Mrs. Ava Holland” even gave out a few believer awards; for the people who were willing to help and support her vision for LFT this year. The Gala featured silent auctions and ticket raffling for items such as 2017 Rodeo Cook off tickets, Texans fan gear, Kendra Scott earring and bracelet pairing, an Apple Watch, a 50 inch tv, Pure White Hennessy Cognac, aged Tequila, etc. While this was going on we were served baby spinach, spiced pecans, parmesan cheese and grape tomatoes salad with herb vinaigrette dressing. For our entrée we had chicken piccata, mushroom risotto, Julienne leeks, carrots, zucchini and cinnamon rolls. After dinner we were given lemon glazed bunds cake on lemon curd topped with strawberries for dessert. This was a great experience and I look forward to more events from Lifting Families Together.
