Sickle Cell Holiday Party

This December, I kicked off my holiday season, by volunteering with Lifting Families Together at their annual Sickle Cell Holiday Party. Lifting Families Together “LFT” is a 501©(3) nonprofit founded by Mrs. Ava Holland. LFT main focus is improving the quality of life of children with health care issues in the Houston area; through programs that empower children and their families. LFT partnered with Texas Children’s Hospital to provide presents and a meet and greet with Santa. “Seeing the big smiles on the kids’ faces while they opened their presents really warmed my heart.” There was one little boy who kept following Santa around. After the meet and greet we played games like bean bag tossing, pin the carrot on the snowman, making arts and crafts and etc…  During the party we heard classic Christmas song such as Jingle Bells, Frosty the Snowman and “my favorite” Santa Baby. Lastly, for dinner LFT provided every child’s favorite meal pizza and light bites. This was a great experience and I look forward to more events from Lifting Families Together.   If you would like to get involved or make a donation here is a link to their website https://liftingfamiliestogether.org/  and contact number 832-947-3018.
